This 1966 Lotus Cortina Mk1 was purchased new in Maryland on March 29, 1967, and remained with its original owner through 1975.
The car was then acquired by multiple SCCA champion and Group 44 driver John Kelly, who reportedly restored it and kept it for many years, and the selling dealer later purchased it from Kelly’s surviving spouse before it was relocated to California.
Subsequent owners included Phil Zacker through 2004 and a Cortina specialist in Southern California from 2011 until being sold on to Derrick Walker, former British auto racing team owner and former president of Competition and Operations for IndyCar.
