This 1952 Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A is one of 1,278 Cabriolet A models bodied by Sindelfingen between 1951 and 1955.

It was purchased in May 1959 by an American serviceman stationed in Augsburg, Germany, and it was imported into the US at the conclusion of his tour of duty circa 1961.

The car resided with him in Oregon for the next 62 until it was purchased by the current owner , and refurbishment was initiated soon thereafter, with receipts eventually totaling nearly $103k.

Corrosion was repaired, body seals were replaced, body panels and trim elements were selectively repainted and re-chromed, and woodgrain components were refinished.

The soft top was replaced, while the original headliner was preserved.
