This Porsche 935 is believed to have been originally constructed 935 L-1 and raced for Bob Akin Motor Racing by Chuck Gaa of GAACO IMSA GT Championship.
A broken axle during qualifying for the final event of the IMSA season led to a crash with Derek Bell at the wheel, and Dave Klym of FABCAR in Tucker, Georgia, was commissioned to use components from the chassis and construct a new car.
