This 1953 Studebaker Commander Regal Starliner hardtop coupe was acquired by the seller in November 2001, after which the body was removed from the frame for a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul.
The exterior was refinished in two-tone silver and blue, the interior was redone in two-tone gray and blue cloth, and a carbureted Buick 350ci V8 was installed along with a T5z five-speed manual transmission and a Dana 44 rear axle with a limited-slip differential.
The chassis was modified with a Ford Mustang II front end with disc brakes and tubular control arms, and QA1 shocks have been installed front and rear.
Other features include 16″ wheels, a Nordskog digital dash unit, an Alpine stereo and speakers, air conditioning, a four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, and dual exhaust.
Approximately 14k miles have been added by the seller since completion of the project.
This modified Studebaker is now offered with build notes and photos as well as a Washington title in the seller’s name.
