Chassis 64/206 was owned and raced in the mid-1970s by a Lotus enthusiast in the UK, and it was purchased on behalf of its next owner in 1981 by Lotus historian Peter Denty.
After changing hands again in 1981, the car was refurbished by Ray Concar with input from Denty.
It remained in Europe until being acquired in 1989 by an enthusiast from Chicago, who raced it for about year.
