This 1959 BMC Formula Junior is chassis #XP001, which was the first of 25 examples produced by Joe Huffaker for Kjell Qvale of British Motor Cars in San Fransisco.
The car was initially used for testing in California and remained with Huffaker after his departure from BMC.
He personally performed a restoration in 2008 with assistance from his son and grandson, and the car won its class at the Monterey Historics that same year while being piloted by Dan Marvin.
It was acquired by the seller in 2012 and has since participated in roughly 30 races, including at Monterey and with number of vintage racing associations.
Power is provided by a 1098cc inline-four mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
