Description 1984 Mini Mayfair; re-bored and modified to take the 1,275cc cylinder head; large SU carburettor and pancake filter; Cooper badging all round Originally a standard black Mini Mayfair, this eye-catching example has been extensively restored and upgraded to create a smart Cooper-inspired car with numerous mechanical and cosmetic improvements.

Between 2013 and 2016, the previous owner carried out a comprehensive restoration of the bodyshell.

Work included replacing the front wings, windscreen lower surround, doorposts, A-panels and sills, repairing the floor panels, fitting new wheel arches, a new boot floor and rear lower valance, before finishing the car with a high-quality full respray.

The engine was also extensively rebuilt and enhanced.

It was rebored and upgraded to accept a 1,275cc cylinder head complete with twin valve springs, while further work included new big-end bearings, a Sprint camshaft and followers, duplex timing chain kit, oil pump, clutch, hoses, radia...
