Description Galvanised chassis; rebuilt by the retired vendor to complete road tours and training mountain rescue teams in and around Scotland; Has covered an astonishing 60,000 miles in three years! The Land Rover Series III is a rugged, utilitarian 4x4 known for its off-road prowess, simple mechanics, and classic British design.

This example was first registered in June 1975 as a short wheelbase featuring a 2.25L Inline-Four petrol engine.

When the vendor retired, he wanted to tour Scotland in a Series Land-Rover and bought this one for its extremely low-mileage engine, just 18,000 miles, to install into a 1960s Series II he planned to restore.

However, he didn’t have the heart to scrap it - they all have a story to tell.

Instead, he sold the Series II as a project.

Using the proceeds, he completely rebuilt this Series III around a galvanised chassis, fitting it exclusively with new parts, ranging from doors and seats to the petrol tank and parabolic springs.
