This 1938 Morgan 4/4 Two-Seater has been meticulously restored, with a rebuilt Coventry Climax engine and Meadows gearbox. While it requires some minor finishing touches like side-screen restoration and paint correction, it presents a unique opportunity for an enthusiast to own a rejuvenated classic.

Condition

The car has undergone a total nut-and-bolt restoration with only 90 miles since. The engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, and suspension have been rebuilt. The ash frame has been repaired, and the bodywork restored. However, the paintwork is not up to the vendor's desired standard, and some minor items need completion, such as restoring the side-screens and addressing the time clock. Some components were replaced with non-original (but better) alternatives.

In 1937 a four-seater was introduced and from 1939 a more powerful 39bhp Standard Special 1,267cc overhead-valve engine was adopted, mated to a four-speed Moss gearbox.

The 4/4 gained an excellent reputation for its spirited performance with notable success on the track.

Around 900 were made before war broke out in 1939, with a further 250 Series 1 'Flat Rad' cars finding customers post-war before production came to a halt i...
