While the car has been meticulously rebuilt and modified for rally use, it's described as being enjoyed as a "fast road car" recently, suggesting some usage. Description Modified for track use in 1993; rebuilt and prepared for Historic Rally events in 2015/18; Guy Croft Racing engine; rally prep by Darren Cooksey of MSMR; MSA papers valid until 2028; only 4k miles from build; ready for road, track or rally use Dating from March 1978, this Lancia Beta Montecarlo was first modified for track use in the early 1990s when it was owned by a Mr Bray of Brighton.

This included a full engine rebuild to Stage 2 Fast Road spec with twin Dellorto 45 carbs and suitable for unleaded fuel by Lancia guru Guy Croft, the build sheets showing that it produced 171bhp @ 7,200 rpm (compared to 120bhp as standard).

Sadly Mr Bray passed away before getting to enjoy the car.

In early 2012 it was offered for sale by Lancia specialist Richard Thorne of Reading, his ad stating that the car had not been used since it was built.

The next owner acquired it in April 2012.

Between 2015 and 2018 he had the car completely rebuilt for use as a Historic Rally car.
