AI Listing Summary
This is a rare 1948 Bristol 401 Touring Superleggera, one of only about 10 ever made, currently undergoing restoration. The car was originally shipped to Touring of Milan for its Superleggera construction and has influenced designs like the Alfa Romeo Freccia d'Oro. While the restoration is near completion, some finishing work remains.

Condition
7
The car is described as almost at the stage of completion after a comprehensive restoration, with photos showing the shell stripped and primed. However, there are some finishing jobs to do, suggesting it's not in perfect or near-perfect condition. Therefore, a rating of 'Very Good' seems appropriate, as it is in overall solid condition with minor reconditioning needed.

The ex-head of BMW design worked on the new car, which to Aldington's frustration still had a body built on pre-war principles - aluminium panels over an ash frame - not as cutting edge ...
