AI Listing Summary
This 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 BN4 is a right-hand drive, petrol-fueled classic with 29,500 miles on the odometer. Restored after being purchased in Arizona, it features a rebuilt 2660cc engine, red leather interior, and a 'rally look' exterior. Note that the paintwork and hood need some fettling and it has a non-original gearbox.
Condition
7
The car has undergone significant restoration work, addressing both mechanical and cosmetic aspects. While the body is mostly rust-free and the interior has been fully renewed, the paintwork requires attention, and the hood needs some adjustment. Mechanically, the engine has been rebuilt, and several components have been replaced or reconditioned, indicating a high level of care and investment. However, the speedometer issue and the non-original gearbox suggest some minor mechanical imperfections.

Description
The current owner purchased this Big Healey via eBay back in 2016 from the dry state of Arizona in the USA.
“I wanted something to keep me busy during retirements,” he explains.
“I’d owned a Triumph Stag for many years but always fancied a Healey.
However, I just couldn’t justify the inflated prices of one in the UK – even rusty wrecks were, at the time, fetching silly money.
Hence the USA purchase”.
“I’ve spent around £25k on the car’s restoration.
The Healey had been under a tarpaulin for approximately 28 years, yet surprisingly had no rust other than pin holes to the footwells and boot floor”.
These non-structural panels were renewed, with the Healey stripped and shot-blasted to bare metal, epoxy primed and given three coats of cellulose paint.
“I sent the engine away for a full rebuild including a re-bore, crank regrind, fresh pistons, an unleaded conversion and finally, a crank seal conversions (rectifying a common Big Healey problem)”.
