Condition

The car is a heavily modified 1991 Porsche 964 'Speedster' evocation. It started as a damaged 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet and has been extensively rebuilt with custom bodywork, interior, and mechanical upgrades. The engine has 77,000 miles and a full-service history, with new adjustable shock absorbers and brake lines. While mechanically sound and cosmetically striking, its non-original nature and rebuilt status prevent it from achieving a higher rating.

It’s quite hard to definitively categorise this remarkable Porsche.

It is certainly an evocation of the 964 Speedster and is, indeed, strictly a 964 in origin.

Somewhere between an evocation and a reimagining is probably as close to pigeon holing that this fascinating example will tolerate.

Back in 1991 this Porsche was a 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

However, by the time current owner, designer and builder, David, came into its orbit it was a 964 Cabriolet with some light front-end damage, a Category C insurance marker and no engine or gearbox.

As such this Porsche made the perfect canvas on which David (Our vendor who has a BA honours degree from Coventry University in car design) could create and expound his vision.

Whilst brevity prevents us going into the impressive depths of David’s design and build CV here, suffice to say he is a qualified professional who spends his days designing, restomodding, backdating and fabricating Porsche 911s for an industry leading specialist company...
