• Original left-hand drive example • Restored and re-bodied as a tourer in the 1970s • Mentioned in John Webb de Campi's book, Rolls-Royce in America • Present ownership since 2000 Chassis number '271-AJS' is one of approximately 100 built in the UK with left-hand drive.

It is believed to be matching numbers, but this is as yet unconfirmed.

Originally bodied in the USA by Huntington as a limousine, the Phantom was delivered new on 27th February 1932 to Mr C T Newberry of Irvington on Hudson, New York City.

The car remained with the same family until 1971 when it returned to the UK for restoration and re-bodying by renowned coachbuilders FLM Panelcraft, as confirmed by stamps in the body panels.

They named the bodywork 'Derby Tourer' after the Phantom I Derby Speedster, which was considered one of the finest bodies of its time (this car is mentioned in John Webb de Campi's book, Rolls-Royce in America ).After restoration the Phantom returned to the USA where our vendor purchased it ...
