Having revived the long-dormant Lagonda brand in 2009 for an abortive SUV concept car, Aston Martin saw sense and a few years later applied it to something Lagonda enthusiasts everywhere thought far more appropriate: the Taraf.

Development was undertaken by Aston Martin's 'Q' division, which specialises in bespoke cars and customising existing models.

The final full-size model was completed in January 2014, only eight months after the first studio sketches had been submitted.
