Mustang racing cars run by Ford France in the 1960s made a lasting impression and the car driven by Johnny Hallyday at Montlhéry in 1967 is particularly well remembered.

Originally sold new in France and as an authentic GT 390 Code S Coupe fitted with the original 6.3-litre big-block engine producing 325 hp, this particular car was fully stripped down, restored and prepared to meet FIA standards in the early 2000s.

A substantial file of photos bears witness to the meticulous care taken throughout the process.

A welded 6-point roll cage was fitted after the car had been completely stripped and primed.

It was then given the famous Ford France livery, featuring a navy blue bonnet and front wings, as well as navy blue and red stripes on the roof and boot.
