To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Twingo in 2023, Renault planned several operations, including the creation of a number of show cars based on Twingos converted to run on electric power, using the EV kit developed by R-Fit.

These kept the original gearbox, but in place of the four-cylinder petrol engine, they were fitted with an electric motor, batteries and all the controls necessary for a set-up of this type.

They are, however, prototypes which were granted individual vehicle approval and cannot in any way be registered for road use by a new owner.
 
This Twingo is one of these specially built vehicles.
