The car Alpine presented at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show was eagerly awaited, as it was the replacement for the ageing A310, introduced 14 years earlier.

The new GTA remained true to the design of its predecessor but had smoother and more elegant lines.

Above all, the Turbo version ensured a big jump in performance: thanks to the Garrett T3 turbocharger, its 2.5-litre V6 delivered 200bhp and it could reach a top speed of 250kph.

The car was in keeping with the times, as during this period Renault was the undisputed pioneer in using turbocharged engines in Formula 1.
 
The GTA Turbo for sale today has been owned by Renault at Billancourt since it was new.

It was probably used as a staff car and the odometer reading of 26,880km is undoubtedly that from new.
