While the XM was already an authentic French take on the upmarket executive saloon, the most demanding drivers could, in addition, specify the 3.0-litre V6 engine, which in 12-valve guise developed 170bhp, mated to a manual gearbox for performance and with the most luxurious ‘Exclusive’ trim level for maximum comfort.

This example is one such model.

First registered on 26 September 1996, it was resold by Citroën Rennes in January 2002 with 73,950km on the clock, then kept in the family of the current owner, an employee of the auction house.

Since then, the car has been regularly used, and the oil, filters, plugs, starter, drive belts, battery and Michelin rear tyres have been changed.
