Présentée contre le gré de la Régie au Salon de Genève 1958, elle devient officiellement la Floride au Salon de Paris de la même année, avec des livraisons qui commencent en été 1959.
Elle bénéficie d'une finition attrayante répondant à l'insouciance des années "twist".
D'ailleurs, la photo de Brigitte Bardot au volant d'une Floride fera le tour du monde...
Ce séduisant cabriolet bénéficiera de diverses améliorations mécaniques au cours de sa carrière, avant de disparaître du catalogue en 1968.
La principale sera l'adoption, avec la version S d'un nouveau moteur 956cm3 5 paliers de 48cv, de 4 freins à disque, ou encore d'un circuit électrique en 12 Volts.
