Selon les archives de l'usine, elle a été commandée au début de 1929 par Léon Boucher, agent Bugatti de Limoges.

Localement, Léon Boucher est alors une personnalité automobile connue car il a participé à partir de 1928 (et continue à le faire jusqu'en 1931) à plusieurs courses de côte avec ses Bugatti Type 35 et Type 43.

Dotée d'une "carrosserie temporaire à deux place" composée d'un capot, de deux sièges en bois et de roues de secours, la voiture est acheminée de Molsheim à Limoges où elle arrive le 14 septembre.
