En 1987, grâce à l'implication de son fils, Alois, la petite firme va marquer tous les esprits en modifiant profondément une Carrera 3.2 L en lui ajoutant deux turbocompresseurs et alla affronter les Supercars du moment, décrochant même deux records de vitesse (339 km/h) avec cette CTR-1 surnommée "Yellow Bird", CTR-1 pour Groupe C, Turbo, Ruf, 1er modèle.
