Avec la 601 apparue en 1964, la marque trouve sa vitesse de croisière et ce modèle va être produit à plus de deux millions d'exemplaires jusqu'à 1990.
La Trabant que nous présentons est très spéciale puisqu'il s'agit d'une version "rallye", profondément modifiée.
Elle reçoit à l'avant deux phares antibrouillard.
Les jantes sont spéciales et l'intérieur dépouillé comporte des sièges baquets Sparco avec harnais, un volant spécial et des commandes particulières ainsi qu'un extincteur monté à l'arrière dépourvu de banquette.
