Description
1997cc petrol, manual.
This Land Rover Series I is an uncommon 109in pick-up, purchased by the vendor in 2007 and affectionately known as Melvyn.
The overall condition is smart and a high degree of originality has been retained, with equipment including front freewheeling hubs, a tow bar and a Fairey overdrive. Melvyn was named in honour of his restorer, Melvyn Coils, from whose estate he was purchased.
The vendor has looked after him well and kept him in a barn ever since.
We're told: "Melvyn had been restored in 2006, stripped back to the chassis and completely rebuilt.
I have used him in my business, exhibited him, and have had lots of fun at Series I events, etc.
He has been loved and meticulously maintained, recently receiving a new master cylinder, carburetor overhaul and a new battery."The restoration is documented in a collection of photographs in the history file, accompanied by a comprehensive collection of receipts from throughout the vendor’s tenure.
