This 1989 Trabant 601 is certainly one of the most attention grabbing cars in the auction.
Built at great expense from a standard car into homage of the state controlled German Democratic Republic GDR rally cars of their time.
It is understood that in the GDR, overseas cars were forbidden and home-built cars were serious contenders in motorsport competition, often having much money spent on them.
