This Austin A40 Somerset was fully restored from 2013 to 2016 by its last owner of 15 years (including rebuilt engine, repaired bodywork, full paintwork and reupholstered seats and headlining) after which it was used for shows and club events.

While it was originally built in 1954, it was reregistered again in February 1982, presumably because it had fallen off the DVLA database.

Four registered keepers are recorded since then, and the odometer shows 99,379 miles.

The MoT is valid until May 2026 even though, as an historic vehicle, the A40 no longer requires annual testing.

It is running and driving, although seemed a little reluctant to stay running during our test drive, even when warm, so some tweaking may be necessary.

Upgrades include flashing indicators to replace the standard trafficators.
