The initial objective for the DB6 replacement was to bring out a V8-powered model: the project not being ready in 1967, the Newport Pagnell firm announced the DBS, taking up the future line of the V8, but powered by an in-line 6-cylinder equivalent to the latest DB6s.
The result is a car to die for, with the press raving about its sumptuous lines, which - for once - are not the work of the Italians!
#5397 is delivered new to Kuwait in a combination of Azzurro Blue with black leather interior.
It returned to France in 1982, before arriving in 2008 at the home of a collector who had decided to offer it a total restoration.
From burgundy, the car was completely stripped (the photos attached to the file reveal the original azure blue), primed and repainted in this mythical shade of metallic grey.
