The initial objective for the DB6 replacement was to bring out a V8-powered model: the project not being ready in 1967, the Newport Pagnell firm announced the DBS, taking up the future line of the V8, but powered by an in-line 6-cylinder equivalent to the latest DB6s.
The result was a car to die for, and the press went into raptures over the sumptuous styling, which - for once - was not the work of the Italians!
#5775 was delivered new on October 21, 1971 to Sunridge Motors in this elegant Dubonnet Rosso color combination with champagne leather upholstery.
It was one of the first examples to be fitted with the automatic gearbox that would soon equip the vast majority of AM V8s!
This example arrived in France at a Paris auction in 1998.
