AI Listing Summary
This 1934 Rolls-Royce 20/25 HP Cabriolet by Fernandez & Darrin, chassis #GNC40, is a rare, French-market exclusive with a documented history. Condition
8
The car underwent a complete restoration between 1989 and 1998, addressing the chassis, bodywork, and mechanics. Post-restoration, the bodywork was stripped, restored, and repainted in navy blue, with the dashboard and woodwork revarnished. The upholstery and carpets were redone, and the soft top, chrome, and electrical harness were also attended to. The listing indicates the car has covered only about 40,000 km, suggesting it has been sparingly used and meticulously maintained since its restoration. After the restoration it was kept in impeccable condition for almost ten years by a discerning collector.

Description
Rolls-Royce 20/25 HP Cabriolet par Fernandez & Darrin – 1934
French registration title Sold without contrôle technique
The Rolls-Royce 20/25 HP was built between 1929 and 1936 to succeed the 20 HP.
It is the most popular Rolls-Royce of the interwar period.
All 20/25 HPs were equipped with bodywork made by independent coachbuilders, many of which were unique pieces.
The model we present is exceptional for its elegance, its history and its provenance.
A model of balance and refinement, of the eight Rolls-Royce chassis of our type bodied by Fernandez & Darrin, only two were made as cabriolets, the one presented being the first, differing slightly from the second.
While these two exceptional examples still exist, this one is the only one to have never left France.
Upon the closure of the Hibbard & Darrin company, the latter took in 1932 as a partner the Parisian banker Fernandez, originally from Argentina.
