Baptisée MVS pour Manufacture de Voitures de Sport en 1985, la célèbre marque (plus connue ensuite sous le nom de Venturi) restera celle qui relança la production des GT à la française à la fin des années 80.
A la fin de l'année 90, le blason MVS disparaît sur les carrosseries pour laisser place au nouvel emblème, le Gerfaut.
Pour répondre aux nouvelles normes antipollution, la 2.80 APC (Avec
Pot Catalytique) succède à la SPC mais conserve néanmoins sa puissance de 260 chevaux, et portera le code interne «
Cup 511».
Comme sa grande soeur, elle est équipée d'un turbo Garett T3, le V6 est installé en position centrale longitudinale et se trouve accouplé à une boîte de vitesse manuelle à cinq rapports.
