SHELBY GT500

The Shelby GT500, a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang, emerged in 1967. Carroll Shelby sought to build upon the Mustang's success by adding more power.

The original GT500 packed a 428 cubic inch V8 engine. It quickly became an icon of American muscle.

The GT500 moniker was revived in later years, with Ford producing new versions. The latest GT500 boasts a supercharged V8 engine.

The successor to the GT500 is the GT500 Code Red.

Did you know that the 1967 GT500 was featured in the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds?" However, it was not the "Eleanor" Mustang, which was a 1967 Shelby GT500 modified to look like a 1967 GT500.
