The NSU Ro80 was a technologically advanced car produced from 1967 to 1977. It featured a Wankel rotary engine, and front-wheel drive.
Despite winning the "Car of the Year" in 1968, the Ro80 suffered from reliability issues, mainly due to the rotary engine's apex seals wearing out quickly. This damaged NSU's reputation.
