Tell Me More
The Hudson Italia, produced from 1954-1955, was a collaboration between Hudson and Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring.
Designed by Frank Spring, it aimed to inject excitement into the Hudson brand.
Its production was limited to around 25-26 units due to Hudson's merger with Nash-Kelvinator, forming American Motors Corporation (AMC).
There was no direct successor, as AMC focused on other models.
A lesser-known story: Hudson shipped complete, running Hudson Jet chassis to Italy for the Italia's construction. Touring then removed the entire Jet body, installed the Italia body, and shipped the completed cars back to the U.S.
