Ghia, an Italian coachbuilder, was founded in 1915 by Giacinto Ghia in Turin.
Initially, Ghia focused on producing lightweight aluminum bodies.
After WWII, Ghia gained prominence through collaborations with Volkswagen, most notably the Karmann Ghia.
Did you know that Luigi Segre, Ghia's owner after Giacinto, secretly worked with Volkswagen on the Karmann Ghia design?
Wilhelm Karmann, seeking a stylish coupe, was initially turned down by Pininfarina.
Segre, behind the scenes, finalized the design, leading to its successful production.
