The Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spider was the brainchild of Luigi Chinetti, Ferrari's North American dealer, who convinced Enzo Ferrari to create a spider version of the 275 GTB/4. Only ten NART Spiders were produced in 1967.
One notable story involves Eddie Smith, Sr., of Lexington, North Carolina, who purchased a NART Spider new and owned it until his passing in 2007. The car remained largely hidden from the public eye for decades. After Smith's death, his family decided to sell the car, which fetched $27.5 million at auction in 2013.
There is no direct successor to the 275 GTS/4 NART Spider.
