The Ferrari 250 GT by Boano, a low-roof coupe, emerged in 1956. Pinin Farina initially handled production, but capacity issues led Ferrari to Carrozzeria Boano. Mario Boano, formerly of Ghia, oversaw the build of around 80 cars.

Its successor was the Ferrari 250 GT Ellena.

A little-known story: Enrico Wax, Ferrari's importer for Genoa, received chassis 0585 GT. Wax wanted a unique car, so Boano built it with special features, including unique trim.
