Fairthorpe, a British car maker, was founded by Air Vice Marshal Donald Bennett in 1954.

Bennett aimed to produce affordable, lightweight sports cars, often using glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) bodies.

One interesting story involves the Fairthorpe Atom, a microcar.

It was designed to be incredibly lightweight and economical, even using a Villiers motorcycle engine.

However, its tiny size and basic features meant it didn't gain widespread popularity, remaining a quirky footnote in British automotive history.
