Excalibur, a neo-classic car, emerged in 1964, brainchild of Brooks Stevens, inspired by a 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK.
The design was initially for a Studebaker display at a New York auto show.
Its hand-built nature and vintage styling, combined with modern mechanicals, set it apart.
The company produced several series, each evolving in design and engineering.
