Callaway Cars began in 1977, founded by Reeves Callaway. Initially, Callaway focused on improving BMWs.
Later, Callaway became known for its work with Corvettes. A cool story is that in the late 1980s, Callaway developed the "Sledgehammer" Corvette. This car reached a top speed of 254.76 mph in 1988. It was a modified production Corvette, showcasing Callaway's engineering.
A lesser-known fact is that Callaway also produced a limited run of Callaway Impalas in 1994-1996. These were high-performance versions of the Chevrolet Impala SS.
