The Bentley 3 Litre was the first model produced by Bentley Motors. It was a successful sports car, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924 and 1927.
Its successor was the Bentley 4½ Litre.
Did you know that a Bentley 3 Litre, nicknamed "Old Mother Gun," was driven by Clive Gallop and Dudley Benjafield in the 1924 Le Mans race? They were in the lead when a stone punctured the fuel tank. Gallop reputedly used his hat to try and stem the leak, but they eventually had to retire.
