The ASM DBR1 is a replica of the Aston Martin DBR1, a sports racing car built in the mid-1950s.
The original DBR1 was designed to win the Le Mans. It won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with drivers Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori.
Its successor was the Aston Martin DBR2.
A lesser-known fact is that the DBR1 was almost scrapped after a crash at the Nürburgring in 1957. The car was badly damaged, but Aston Martin decided to repair it, leading to its eventual Le Mans victory.
