ASM, or Aixam-Mega, began in 1983 after Arola, a small car maker, faced difficulties. Initially, they focused on microcars, vehicles that didn't require a driver's license in some countries.
A lesser-known fact: In the 1990s, Aixam-Mega ventured into the SUV market with the Mega Track, a luxury off-roader. It was powered by a Mercedes-Benz V12 engine. Only a handful were ever made.
