The Ford Thunderbird, a classic American car, debuted in 1955, conceived to rival the Corvette. It quickly became known for its style and comfort.

Originally a two-seater, it evolved into a larger four-seater in 1958, boosting sales. The Thunderbird went through many design changes across eleven generations.

Production ended in 1997, then briefly revived in 2002 as a retro-styled two-seater, before ending again in 2005. There was no direct successor.

A little-known fact: Ford considered a front-wheel-drive Thunderbird in the late 1970s, but the idea was scrapped.
