The legendary Carrera RS models were produced between September 1972 and July 1973, with a total of 1,580 examples built.

Of these, just 200 were specified as Lightweights, the most focused and sought-after variant.

Designed for homologation to allow Porsche to compete in Group 4 racing, the 2.7 RS quickly became the benchmark for every high-performance 911 that followed.Chassis, 1528 a matching-numbers example, was first registered new in Germany in 1973.

This exceptional RS Lightweight spent its first sixteen years on German roads before being imported to the UK by Autofarm in 1989.

Autofarm retained ownership until 1995, when the car was acquired by Fred Hampton, the distinguished former President of Porsche Club GB.

A passionate enthusiast, Hampton enjoyed driving and preserving the car until 2000.That same year, the RS was purchased by Michael Chadwick, a respected Porsche collector well known within marque circles.
