Rarely seen in the UK the STI Type R Version 3 was aimed at homologation for rallying becoming the base for Prodrive's group N cars.
Launched in 1997 and based on the 4 door Type RA model in a stiffer 2 door bodystyle.
Upgrades include STI built engine with forged internals, closer ratio gears fitted into a toughened gearbox, intercooler water spray and Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD).
The body featured light weight panels, thinner glass, reduced insulation and upgraded interior including front seats emblazoned with '555' to celebrate Subaru's rallying pedigree.
One of just 1371 models produced this Version 3 model finished in the iconic Sonic Blue is presented in what appears to be very original condition, still wearing its standard alloy wheel...
