When it was launched in 1955 the Citroen DS was 65% more expensive than its predecessor the Traction Avant.
This affected sales in post war europe which led to the launch of the ID in 1957.
Sharing the same design and running gear along with revolutionary hydraulic suspension but lacked the DS complicated gearbox, moving headlamps and leather interior.
This example was supplied new in France in 1970 before being imported to the UK by the current keeper in 2004, fully UK registered with V5 and showing 0 previous UK keepers as well as 74,000 miles which equates to 46,000 miles.
