AI Listing Summary

This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE RHD coupe offers a solid mechanical foundation with a smooth-running engine and gearbox, complemented by effective braking and ride comfort. However, it requires significant cosmetic attention, including panel repairs, rust treatment, paint touch-ups, interior refurbishment of seats and dashboard wood, and attention to aged rubber seals and chrome trim, making it a project with restoration potential.

Condition

5

The car presents well externally with flush panels and even shut lines, but there are several cosmetic issues including minor panel damage, dents on the lower front wing and roof, corrosion on rear inner arches and wing corners, and rust spots on the rear arch. The paint has minor marks, peeling, chips, scratches, and crazing on the roof. The interior shows wear on the leather seats, a damp carpet, and needs dashboard wood refurbishment. Mechanically, the engine bay and chassis rails show age, and the sill areas are aged, with a hole in the spare wheel well. The tyres have mixed ages, with some from the late 90s showing mild age signs. However, the engine sounds good, the gearbox operates smoothly, and braking and ride comfort are effective.

The ultimate in quality pillarless coupés, the 250SE is one of the most elegant designs of its era.

The 14” wheel trims all show marks on their rims.

The steel rims are in line with the general condition of the car.

The front of the car is fitted with Michelin Rainforce MX4 tyres, with the front showing a spec of 195/75 and is date coded from 2017.

The front pairs are the same spec and branded as Michelin Reinforce MX4; these date from the late 90s and show mild signs of age, but have legal tread.

Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior of the Mercedes and a closer look at the wheels and tyres to make your own assessment of their condition.

The exterior presents well, and the panels are flush to the body with even shut lines.

The doors open and close without resistance.

There are a handful of instances of minor panel damage; these seemed to be limited to a treatable lower nearside front wing dent and a dent on the roof.
