The 1968 Jaguar 240 was a refined evolution of the classic MKII saloon, introduced as part of Jaguar’s “240/340” update to modernise the range.

Powered by the 2.4-litre XK straight-six, this produced around ~133bhp.

Keeping up with Jaguar’s high standards, it offered smooth performance, excellent ride comfort, and the traditional Jaguar blend of luxury and sporting character.

Notable updates included slimmer bumpers, improved interior fittings, and the option of overdrive on the automatic transmission or a manual four-speed gearbox, which this particular model has.

These changes made the 240 a more usable and slightly lighter successor to the earlier Mk2, while retaining its timeless style and charm.

Sadly, due to the tyres being flat we were unable to pull the car out of the garage on the day of our visit, so we did the best we could do with the access we had.
