Description
Introduced during an era of automotive elegance, the Alfa Romeo Spider perfectly encompassed the emotive exuberance of a bygone era of style, emotion and freedom.
Designed and assembled by Pininfarina, the 105 Series open-top Spider was an advanced car of its time, adding an aesthetic focal point to a range full of talented driver's cars.
First seen in 1966, the Spider went on to become a fixture in the Alfa Romeo range for an impressive three decades.
Each series saw incremental updates to the power and visuals, but the feel and sheer driving pleasure remained undiluted.
For a period in the late 80s, the Spider was one of the few mainstream open-top roadsters available, enabling a steady trickle for demand.
Despite its age, what kept the Alfa in the hearts of everyone who drove it was its immense character, and even when mainstream manufacturers resurrected the open-top market in the 90s, most of the new designs lacked the Alfa's distinctive charisma.
