Restored in 2005, at which time the colour was changed from orange to Maraschino Black, as you can see from the photographic record and the extensive invoices on file no part of the Midget was left untouched.

The seller bought ‘GOP 216L’ from us three years ago and has continued to lavish love and money on it since: Last serviced only a thousand-or-so miles ago, Morley Auto Services took the opportunity to sort out the rear brakes and fit a new choke cable at the same time, work that set the owner back more than £500.

But then he had every incentive to maintain its reliability as he and his wife have used it extensively, first venturing into Cornwall for a few days holiday and later into Northern France for a ten-day trip where it performed “incredibly well with no issues.” Now being reluctantly offered for sale – and with no reserve – we can see this charming little sportscar drawing an awful lot of interest.

Black is a tough act to pull off, even on a new car, so the fact this one...
